ZAZZLE INFORMATION - the basics

What is Zazzle?

Founded in 2005 Zazzle is the internet's #1 website for customized merchandise. Zazzle sells hundreds of different products, many available for the buyer to customize. Zazzle sells designs from featured brand partners like DC Comics, Disney and Barbie as well as designs created by people like us and you!

How easy is it to open a store on Zazzle?

It's actually very easy...and FREE! But there is definitely a learning curve in the beginning to figuring out the design tools on the Zazzle site, creating your storefront image so that it looks decent, adding categories and collections, and setting royalty rates. The best place to get help is on the Zazzle support portal.

How do I create my designs?

I started playing around with PicMonkey at the start of 2015. It was a free online design platform...kind of a poor man's photoshop. Because I keep our design pretty simple, it's still the tool I use most often.

How much time do I spend on my store?

I spent many hours (days for sure, weeks perhaps) initially creating products and setting up the store. Now, I revisit the store monthly to reorganize products and categories, create new collections, add products and delete products.

So how do you earn money on Zazzle anyway?

One way to earn money on Zazzle is via royalties (commissions) on the products that sell that you created. You are in charge of setting each product's royalty percentage during the design creation process. The higher the royalty %, the higher the selling price and the more you earn per item. The lower the royalty %, the lower the selling price and the less you earn per item. The minimum royalty rate on Zazzle is 5%. Many of our designs are set to the lowest rate offering our customers the best price point. There are coupon codes available to customers on Zazzle on a very regular basis which lowers the selling price and the resulting royalty amounts as well.

The second way to earn money on Zazzle is through referrals and this method can be far more lucrative than royalty earnings. In order to get referral earnings you need to find ways to promote your Zazzle products to potential buyers and get them to navigate to Zazzle via a link you provide. The link has your store id embedded into it so that if someone ends up buying through that link, you get a referral payment. Zazzle even offers volume bonus earnings for top referral earners.

Some of the links on this website are affiliate links, which means that we may earn a commission if you click on the link or make a purchase using the link. When you make a purchase, the price you pay will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link. By using the affiliate links, you are helping support Team Lawrence, and we genuinely appreciate it!
